Fact
pinealglands: There is zero independent research to support the theory that chemical imbalances in the brain cause depression and anxiety. Here’s a good start for references on how the chemical imbalance theory is just that - a theory.  In fact, there’s very little evidence supporting chemical imbalances.  And, to the person who said they owed their life to anti-depressants and...

primalpalette: Dolphins should be treated as non-human “persons”, with their rights to life and liberty respected, scientists meeting in Canada have been told. What does the tribe think of classifying some animals as non-human persons? This is amazing.  Here’s a quote from the article:  ”We’re saying the science has shown that individuality - consciousness - self-awareness...

solitaryforager: humanformat: Celebrated scientists and development thinkers today warn that civilization is faced with a perfect storm of ecological and social problems driven by overpopulation, overconsumption and environmentally malign technologies. In the face of an “absolutely unprecedented emergency”, say the 18 past winners of the Blue Planet prize – the unofficial Nobel for the...

Here’s a crazy idea - - what if, come election day, no one votes for the given candidates?  Instead, we use the write-in option.  What if we all voted for “The People”? Imagine if “The People” won the popular election.  What would we do when the Electoral College declared another candidate President? Contribute to the idea.  Discuss it, improve it.  I want...

Tonight, Allan and I tried our hand at making paleo pancakes.  Allan stumbled upon this awesome, easy recipe at Mark’s Daily Apple: it called for 3 different ingredients - 2 bananas, 1 egg, and 1 tablespoon of almond butter. 2 mashed bananas, check. 1 egg, check. 1 tablespoon of almond butter…well, I don’t really like almond butter, so we used sunflower seed butter instead. We...

What I’ve never understood about vegetarianism/Veganism is when we get into spirit talk.  ”Animals have spirits, too,”  someone says. “Animals feel pain!” another shouts.  They recount the mega-farms, slaughter, and waste.  How poultry are kept in tiny cages with no room to move around, or allowed in a crowded pen for an hour - what corporations call...

I love Anonymous, I really do.  I believe it helps eliminate fear and helplessness and replacing it with hope and courage.  They stand up for us - they are us. But, I will say this.  With the amount of hacking and defacing that the group has been up to lately, I’m afraid that the governments of the world are going to use this as the perfect excuse for unlawful legislation or the branding of...

To join the 7,000+ other websites going black tomorrow in protest of SOPA/PIPA, I attached a script to my HTML on Tumblr that will provide info on the bill.  I will not be blogging from the hours of 8AM-8PM as well.  If you have a Twitter account, I encourage you not to tweet during those hours, and use the tags #SOPAblackout and #J18 to spread the word. People need to be informed.  These bills...

I’m thinking I’m going to start storing crystals with my weed.  My theory is that the energy from the crystals will basically absorb/rub off on the weed and when I smoke it, I’ll get that energy. If I was a dealer, I’d implement this technique.  I mean, I would totally buy weed that’s infused with certain energies. What do you think?

Following the unrelated (or is it?) earthquake in Antarctica, Indonesia warns that many volcanoes on its island are showing abnormal conditions. ”’According to official data, 25 volcanoes are now under alert or watch status and they must be given priority with regard to disaster mitigation planning at district or city levels,’ [presidential aide Andi Arief] said at a...

This site is awesome.  I used it last night to relax and get my breathing into a steady pattern.  For some reason my breathing is where I’m struggling the most during my meditations.  I’ll finally get my breathing in control and then when I go to turn my focus onto something else, my breathing either completely stops or it becomes shallow and I lose my relaxed state.  The Calm...

So, one thing about the paleolithic diet I didn’t like at first was that I had to get rid of my protein powder.  Based on whey and soy, I had been deceived by clever marketing, false information, and a desire to be fit and healthy.  Here’s a couple of quick reasons this kind of protein powder isn’t effective.  Soy contains estrogen, which inhibits muscle growth.  It’s not...

You know what's sad?
The majority of people won’t protest, take to the the streets, or boycott over indefinite detention, knowing that minimum wage has dropped 20% since the 1960’s, killing hundreds of thousands of people, or blocking the internet; however, I bet if you banned junk food, riots would break out and people would be demanding change now.

but we can’t forget the senators and representatives that pushed the bill through Congress and called the U.S. a battlefield.  We also can’t forget that we, the citizens of this country, as a majority, allowed this to pass without even a blink.  We need to turn our focus now on what can be done about it.  There are plenty of petitions going around (look at change.org or even the new...
