25 volcanoes in Indonesia showing abnormal conditions…
Following the unrelated (or is it?) earthquake in Antarctica, Indonesia warns that many volcanoes on its island are showing abnormal conditions.
”’According to official data, 25 volcanoes are now under alert or watch status and they must be given priority with regard to disaster mitigation planning at district or city levels,’ [presidential aide Andi Arief] said at a workshop on journalists’ role in disaster management.”
“He said in West Sumatra there were two volcanoes that need to be closely watched, namely Mount Marapi and Mount Talang, as they are still under alert status.”
This is really interesting. What are the implications of this? Is there something massive going on under Indonesia, possibly with the Australian-Indian plate? How many people are in danger and where can they be evacuated? If all of these volcanoes erupt around the same time, will Indonesia become a living hell? What are the environmental effects? I’m sad this isn’t in mainstream news yet. I want to know what’s going on - this could be huge, after all.
