Wahnes’ Parotia Bird of Paradise - Found in the rainforests of New Guinea, the Wahnes’ Parotia is one of the most beautiful birds of paradise. Although the male’s feathers are much flashier than his female counterpart’s, all birds of this species share the strikingly beautiful blue eyes. Little is known about this species of birds of paradise, and it is currently listed as “vulnerable” by the IUCN. Like many other birds of paradise, the Wahnes’ Parotia clears the ground of view-blocking debris, and attempts to court the females through a series of bending, bowing, dancing around, and shaking his head.
